Three longtime media executives are building an automated system to allow newspapers and magazines to charge for online access, including an “all you can read” subscription that would allow access to multiple publications, the executives said on Tuesday.
I feel like this is doomed from the start. I can’t think of any online newspaper that has kept with trying to charge fees for its content. I guess it works with older content instead of the latest news, but there are so many easy and free ways to get those elsewhere on the web. I guess we shall see what happens…
